The modular Local Control Unit (LCU) offers many options and advantages for use in the field of material handling technology. For example, mains and fieldbus cables can be looped through using the pluggable bus connections. Since safety-related aspects are becoming increasingly important, the necessary safety modules are already integrated in the control systems. Motors, sensors, actuators, rotary encoders or Y-distributors are quick and easy to connect with preassembled and tested cables. Typical fields of application for the LCU include roller conveyors and turntables.

When using the LCU for frequency-controlled drives, the volume of control cabinets is reduced. The LCU system is designed in such a way that it can easily be modified and extended using multi-function modules. It allows conveyor-based systems to be equipped with intelligent automation technology in an efficient and timely manner.
